Hoi An is located downstream of Thu Bon river, the coastal plain of Quang Nam, Central Vietnam, and Hoi An Ancient Town is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Centres and also a favorite destination for not only Vietnamese people but also international tourists across the world.
About 30 km from Da Nang to the southeast and 60 km from Tam Ky to the northeast, in the late 16th century, Hoi An was the center of international trade on the East-West trading journey, and it was also a prosperous trading port of Cochinchine, Vietnam during the reign of the Nguyen Lords with merchant ships from Japan, China, Portugal, Spain, the Netherlands, and many others often coming here to exchange, purchase and sell goods.

Hoi An is very close to Da Nang, so it may take you 30-40 minutes to get there. You can take a taxi or a Grab car, which ranges from $15-20. You can also take a bus from Da Nang to Hoi An. Hotels/hostels or tourism companies’ buses are always available also. For a budget option, the local bus which can be seen at 33 Dien Bien Phu, Thanh Khe District, Danang runs every hour and costs about $1 for one-way ticket. Besides, you can take a motorbike taxi or rent a scooter and ride it by yourself. Scooter renting price ranges from $5-8/day depending on the brand of scooter.
