MEKONG DELTA 1 DAY TOUR

Itinerary:

Leaving the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh City and start your trip to depart for My Tho, the town lies on the left side of the Mekong River. Upon arrival, visit Vinh Trang pagoda which sated back to the late 19th century. Then boarding the sampan and cruising down the river around the four beautiful islands known as Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix and Tortoise islands.

Stop over at Unicorn Island, go walking around country lane and seeing orchards, enjoy tropical fruits, folk song music which performed by the local people. Visit the fruit plantation.

Riding a hand-rowed sampan through Thoi Son canal and treat yourself in the beauty of the countryside, visit the family business, visit honey-bee farm, enjoy honey tea and coconut candy workshop.

Have lunch at local restaurant. Break time.

ITINERARY:

Day 1: HCMC – Cai Be – Can Tho (L)

07:30: Pick up at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City and start the trip to Cai Be. Upon arrival in Cai Be, have a boat ride to the remaining site of a renowned wholesale floating market on the Tien River many years ago. This site entitles you to learn something about the local trading habit that has changed due to the age of modern society when more terrestrial transportation and high techniques of agriculture have dominated everywhere. There, you can realize how diverse the area is and how rich orchard gardens are, which makes it the basket of fruit in the lower part of the Mekong River.

Ramble in small villages where you will uncover the beauty of an ancient house and learn about the indigenous culture. Make a short visit to a small family business where the locals make coconut fudges and crispy rice popcorn. Savor delicious fresh fruit and feel the slow rhythms of Southern Vietnamese folk music – a kind of music entwined with the life and culture of the Mekong Delta people. Paddle through small canals – an exciting experience since you can look around, unwind, and soak up the wonderful atmosphere of the Upper Mekong Delta. Additionally, after arrival on Tan Phong Island, immerse yourself in nature’s tranquility.

Day 2: Can Tho – Cai Rang floating market – HCMC (B/L)

Have breakfast at the hotel. You can take a leisurely boat ride to explore the picturesque tributaries of the Lower Mekong River (Bassac River), then visit Cai Rang Floating Market, the most vibrant floating market in the area.

Walking tour of the local noodle factory. Visit Munir Ansay Pagoda – Khmer temple, famous for its unique structure. Then, move by boat to the Con Son tourist area, visit the fruit plantation, and enjoy seasonal fruits.

Have lunch and return to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City – Mui Ne (L/D):

07:30am: Depart at the hotel and depart to Mui Ne by van/minibus. It takes 3 – 3,5 hours. Nearer to Phan Thiet the terrain changes to semi-desert with cactus plants and strange looking dragon fruit plantation.

Arriving in Mui Ne, visit the Poshanu Cham tower.

Have lunch at a local restaurant and check in at the resort/ hotel.

14:00pm: visit White sand dunes about 30 km, Sandy Paradise where is attracted by natural beauty, oriental – Sahara Desert. Kept changing their shapes as a result of blowing wind and the shadow of sunlight. Not only you can enjoy sand-sliding or quad-bike (pay by guest account) for fantastic eye-viewing the lotus lake locating in the heart of the dunes, which is available during four seasons. On the way back, you can enjoy one more time the Red Sand dunes, the exciting daily local activities fishermen and thousands of fishing boat delivering their products from the sea to the local market at the Fishing Village. Day 2: Mui Ne – Ho Chi Minh City (B/L):

At noon, Check out the resort/ hotel, have lunch at local restaurant. After lunch, visit Fish sauce museum and going back to Ho Chi Minh city. The trip ends at Ho Chi Minh City.

Pick you up at your hotel and depart for Ben Tre. After arriving at Phong Nẫm Bridge, board the boat & cruise along the Chẹt Sậy River. The cool breeze from the river and lush tropical islands along its banks immediately excite you to explore all the great things ahead.

Arrive and visit various local workplaces to find many wonderful examples of how local people use ageless techniques to create their crafts, dried coconut, handy coconut husk brooms, and many family businesses using coir, or coconut fiber, to create amazing art.  Drive around the village roads by “Xe Lôi”, the local vehicle, a motorized rickshaw.

Perfect your day with a delicious and filling lunch at a local host house.

Break time, treating yourself to a relaxing time to relish the beautiful countryside.

Day 2: Trà Vinh – HCMC (B/L)

After breakfast, arrive and visit the mat weaving village with nearly 100 years of development, Tra Vinh’s mat industry has developed from production and self-consumption into a well-known quality product. Visit and learn about Kmer culture: Angkorajaborey Pagoda, also called Ang Pagoda, the Tra Vinh Museum of Khmer Ethnic Culture, and Ba Om Pond. It is one of the types in the system of 141 pagodas of the Khmer in Tra Vinh province, and Ba Om Pond is a unique and famous landscape in Tra Vinh Province. The pond is rectangular, 300 m wide, and 500 m long. The pond’s surface is clear and blue, covered by lotus flowers and water lilies. A hundred-year-old ancient oily tree whose roots rise from the ground creates strange shapes that attract tourists here, and visit the Tra Vinh Museum of Khmer Ethnic Culture

After that visited the coconut nectar company, a traditional job for local people collecting coconut blossoms from coconut flowers.
