What and where to eat in Da Nang?
So as to get the heart of Da Nang, you must try to taste some of the most popular cuisines here!
SEAFOOD
Danang is a beach city and of course, seafood is the first thing that has to be mentioned. So excursions to the city, you should not miss the taste of ‘the sea’ with the delicious dishes prepared in the unique ways and where should eat?
Just go along Pham Van Dong Beach or My Khe Beach, you can easily encounter a range of seafood restaurants here. From the affordable shops to high-end restaurants with luxurious space, they all bring the fresh feeling because of the view towards the sea as well as the windswept open area. And as you would expect, the seafood here is remarkably flavorful and very palatable. Depending on location you choose, there will be different suitable prices.
Ba Thoi (Bà Thôi)
Going to Ba Thoi, you will be satisfied and comfortable with a cool and open space although it lies in the center of the city. Especially, you are friendly welcomed, attentively served and can taste a variety of fresh seafood dishes. This restaurant is pretty popular among visitors that have come to Da Nang.
Address: 96, 98, 100 Le Dinh Duong, Hai Chau, Da Nang.
Nam Danh Seafood (Hải Sản Năm Đảnh)
Highly recommend the favorite one of the locals. This one is not only cheaper than the others but also fresh and really tasty. Though quite hard to get there, it is really worth it.
Address: K139/H59/38 Tran Quang Khai, Tho Quang, Son Tra, Da Nang.
BANH TRANG CUON THIT HEO (Bánh Tráng Cuốn Thịt Heo)
(Girdle-cake/Rice-thin paper with boiled pork)
Thin slices of boiled pork rolled in thin rice paper with a mix of vegetables (salad, perilla leaf, mint leaves, endive, bean sprout, a clove of garlic and so on) with anchovy paste make an unforgettable excitement to diners enjoying the dish. Why do not you try and prove it?

MI QUANG (Mì Quảng)
Mi Quang (Quang noodles) is one of the most well-known specialties in Da Nang – Quang Nam. A distinctive dish is partaken of thick rice noodles with assorted vegetables, pork, shrimp, chicken and frog in some shops or restaurants and stewed broth from pork bones. They are also added by milled and dry roasted peanuts, chopped green onions, herbs, and red peppers. Particularly, Mi Quang is not unfamiliar with tourists, but to choose a right stop so that you can taste the actual “Quang” of this delicacy is not that easy. Hence, I, born and raised in Danang, would like to recommend a few of places:
Address:

(The store near the city centre, a convenient spot with spacious and courtesy space; it attracts a large number of tourists)

BUN CHA CA (Bún Chả Cá)
You can see Bun Cha Ca (Rice noodles with grilled fish) in many regions in Vietnam but Bun Cha Ca Danang brings a differently characteristic flavor that cannot be found anywhere else. You want to know how different it is? In some cases, in term of food, only words cannot describe. Just try! Here are some famous Bun Cha Ca restaurants should not be missed:
- 109 Nguyen Chi Thanh, Da Nang. (highly recommend)
- Ba Lu (Bà Lữ) – 319 Hung Vuong, Da Nang.
- Ong Ta (Ông Tạ) – 113A Nguyen Chi Thanh, Da Nang
GOI CA NAM O (Gỏi Cá Nam Ô)
Let’s enjoy Nam O raw fish and vegetables – the delicious specialty of Da Nang made from fresh fishes adding little spices with herbs and I am sure that this delicacy would not make you disappointed at all! Especially for those who are addicted to ‘raw fish’, ‘must-taste’ dish indeed.
Addesses for the ‘must-come’ stores:
- Goi ca Tan (Gỏi cá Tấn) – 464 Dien Bien Phu, Da Nang.
- Goi ca Sau Hao (Gỏi cá Sáu Hào) – 232 Tran Cao Van, Da Nang.
- 972 Nguyen Luong Bang, Nam O, Da Nang.
CA NUC NUONG GIAY BAC (Cá Nục Nướng Giấy Bạc)
Round scad grilled in kitchen foil is eaten with vegetables (water spinach, mustard, salad, mint leaves and so on) and the most important and indispensable ‘flavour’ that makes the dish distinctive is anchovy paste with garlic and chilli. Some people also use the fish sauce instead. It sounds simple but not really simple because the taste is actually amazing!
These are well liked stores in the city:
- Ca Nuc Quan (Cá Nục Quán) – 203 Han Thuyen, Da Nang (This is my favourite one)
- Ba Xin (Bà Xỉn) – K528/32, Ong Ich Khiem, Da Nang.
- Ca Nuc Quan (Cá Nục Quán) – 143 Tieu La, Da Nang.
NEM LUI – BANH XEO/VIETNAMESE PANCAKE (Nem Lụi – Bánh Xèo)
You can find Nem Lui and Banh Xeo in numerous places in Vietnam including Da Nang. Nem Lui is made from spiced pork meat and made into a skewer then being grilled. Banh Xeo is pancake made of rice flour with shrimp, pork and bean sprout inside. They are served with salad and other raw vegetables, and what makes them remarkable is the soup used for the dishes. On rainy days, the chilly weather makes the aroma and the taste of these delicacies become more “divine”. Let’s enjoy Nem Lui and Banh Xeo in some special whereabouts below during the rainy season of Da Nang!
Here are stores to enjoy the real taste of Banh Xeo and Nem Lui DaNang:

FOOD COURT IN CON MARKET (Khu ẩm thực chợ Cồn)
If you are in Danang and you do not have enough time to taste all the foods here, just go to Con Market and you can enjoy them all. Con Market is the largest market located in the city centre. Take a step inside the area on the right the market about 200 m, you will feel like being in the heaven of vendors with junk foods and specialties. Seeing the delicious and eye-catching dishes sold and eaten, you might ‘salivate’ and do not hesitate to spend 15.000 VND – 30.000VND to taste once!

I’m such a food lover. I really like trying typical food and drinks, especially seafood.
I love Vietnamese cuisine. Da Nang sounds like a great spot for fresh seafood options. The rice noodles sound delicious too. Not sure when we’ll be in Vietnam, but I’ll keep these options in mind.
That is looking just SO DELICIOUS. Want to! The things they offer look much more interesting than the ones they offer in Asian restaurants here.
